Trip Update - Home Sweet Home
We got into Denver last night and crashed at our friend's place, Dr.
Cody & Chrissy. We have stayed with them before. They've been SOOO
much help and always full of encouragement for us.
We got to Stapleton at 11am today (Friday) and just finished unloading
the Penske, which was way better than every uHaul I've ever used.
Here's the main marque for our little downtown. Keep in mind that
there are 3 other retail centers with the big box stores like Target
and Best Buy. Our retail center is small mom & pop shops and, of
course, a Sixbucks...I mean Starbucks.
Trip Update - Almost There!
We are 75 miles out of Denver & I am picking up clear radio stations!!!

Another Fun Cow
Poor guy. I bet he wishes he had a monkey on his back instead. :( He
blew his nose on me twice. On purpose, I'm sure of it. He smelled my
steak lunch on my breath.
Relax vegans. Nanu nanu.
Don't Have a Cow Man
Or do, just chew it first.
Yep, that's two (2) bum bum holes & pee pee holes.
This is like one of those optical illusions that you have to stare at
got a while to figure out what you are looking at.
Trip Update - Spooky: No Radio Reception
Strange, near Quinter, KS there are no FM stations that come in. Only
music and backwoods talk radio on AM. Seriously, I just listened to 10
minutes of a farm equipment bulletin board. A rural CraigsList, if
you will.
This 22 hour trip has been a great time to relisten to North Point
Church's "Starting Point" mp3's. They are AWESOME!!! If you're
intrested, shoot me an email from thrivechirostudio.com with your
address and I will send the to you for free.
Trip Update - Main Street USA
At least according to this brochure in Hays, KS. There is actually a
pretty cool history surrounding this place.
That's one thing I wish that I did more of in Atlanta: learn about,
visit and appriciate the historical places there. I'm sure Denver has
some interesting history!
Trip Update - The Great Plains
Here we go. Starting our flat portion of the drive.
"Folks, this is your captaon speaking. On the left you will notice
nothing. Out of your right window - nothing. And if you look way off
into the distance...you may need to squint, but you just might make
out...nothing."
In all honesty, it's really beautiful out here. I am amazed at how the
terrain changes as we cross the country. God is a majestical creator
that loves variation. I wonder what the new Earth that the Bible
speaks of will look like one day?!?! Seeing as we have really screwed
the pooch (what does that even mean?) on this 1st version.
Numerous friends told us how utterly boring the drive through cattle
country is. Pun intended. Utter. Ah huhu, cow nipples. Maybe we
can stop and find some raw milk...
Trip Update - Water Fun
Because of our trailer (yee ha) we had to park in the hotel's back lot
by their water park. Fun part was trying to get out of the vehicles
with the sprinklers aimed at us. This morning we got to enjoy the
festivities all over again!
Trip Update - Kansas City
The view from our Sheraton hotel room. Trust me, this is a far cry from the night before. The Ramada "hotel" we stayed at in Clarksville, TN was not even deserving of the name motel. The sink was dirty and there was mysterious dark material on the toilet seat in the first room along with the AC not working - just blowing warm, moist air. Yeah, nasty. Then at 3am we changed rooms. The second room was ok, at first. Then, for no reason, they turned our AC off from the front office around 4am.
The Sheraton was totally different. Even though the first room at the Sheraton had no thermostat, they moved us. The final room was awesome! We highly recommend staying here. Got a $150 room for $70. Not too shabby. www.clarionkcmo.com
We had breakfast in bed for the first time in our lives...granted, it was complimentary.
This is our final day of our trip. We will be in Denver tonight and will be moving in to our apartment tomorrow at 11 am...yay!
Trip Update - St. Louis
This was as close as we could get to the Arch b/c of the limited
parking for a truck and trailer. Allie's never seen the Arch up
close, let alone go up on it! J
"Sad" - Dr. Krantz
Trip Update - St. Louis Arch
Our first glimpse of it. Sorta like that feeling when you drive into
Disney World and see the giant Gold Ball for the first time as a kid.
Loveless Cafe
The best homemade preserves - ever!
This place us one of those restaurants that your uncle tells you about
- where all the famous bands eat when going through Nashville.
Trip Update - Nashville, TN - A Real Soda Jerk!!!
That's right kids. We stopped and had an honest to goodness soda
Sunday at the "Elliston Place Soda Shop"! Met some good folks there,
too.
